What smaller(er) control surface for PT19?
The Avid Artist Control and S3 are super awesome but I just can't spend that much.
Thought about an old Digidesign Control 24 that's for sale locally but not sure how crippled it is having to work via HUI and the V-Control software. Can't get a good user review on that setup. It's on the large side as well. Seriously considering an old Digi 003. If I understand it it's still 100% functional and the layout was always very good. If only it was expandable to 16 faders. I could live with a Behringer X Touch and maybe a sidecar. What do you guys recommend? |

D commands are dirt cheap. Small form factor.

Oh wait.. Was thinking of the Command 8. Is the D Command still fully integrated or is it on the HUI/V Control language now? |

Depending on what you want to do with the control surface, there are some apps for iPad and Android that are controllers. I used one for awhile with my Kindle Fire called TouchDAW that was pretty good. I only needed it for the big counter display, didn't use it for fader control, but it did have that. The app is no longer being developed I don't think but maybe it's still available. It was a whopping $5 to purchase.

Using a 1st-gen Faderport here. Does the job quite nicely.

Getting something decent under $1,000 is going to be tough. If I were you, i'd get a Raven MTi 2. You can get a new one from Sweetwater with monthly payments and there are som used ones around for less than $700.
