New Sound FX Library!
I just bought a copy of a sound effects library from a new company started by sound designer Tim Prebble! I think the concept and idea behind his way of releasing these effects is great and a big step forward from the traditional approach with libraries! The download options range from free CD quality samples through to 24bit 96k with loads of repetitions/variations of the sounds! Anyways, I find it's a nice and fresh approach so thought I'd share it!
Check out the first release Vegetable Violence: http://hissandaroar.com |

Definitely exciting - we just bought the first volume last week and have already used it in one of our shows. An excellent value...

Re: New Sound FX Library!
I totally agree about the website! Great site and probably pretty handy sounds as well... I will definitely have a closer look at the stuff.

Thanks for the kind words & support!
For anyone not on the mailing list Library 2 has just launched SWISHEs (2000+ 96k swishes) check it out: http://hissandaroar.com |
Re: New Sound FX Library!
Great second library Tim!!!!
I'm gonna have to get it, just to support this idea of distribution, PLUS one can always use different swishes to mangle. Can't wait to see what's next!! |
Re: New Sound FX Library!
I've just released Library 3: SEAL VOCALS
http://hissandaroar.com If you know anyone working on a zombie movie (or any creature vocals) then you should definitely check it out.... and failing all else grab yourself a copy of the free library! |
Re: New Sound FX Library!
Hi Tim,
Is that a Condenser Cabbage, or a Dynamic? I've used a Condenser, but can never get the balance between "crispy freshness" straight from the refrigerator, and allowing the fresh cabbage sufficient time to acclimatise so that Phantom Power isn't an issue. What do you recommend ? |
Re: New Sound FX Library!
hah!
its a phantom powered cabbage the important trick when wiring up cabbages is to use wire wrapping, as cabbages react violently to the heat from soldering and you would not want to get bitten! (see wikipedia: cabbage zombification) |
Re: New Sound FX Library!
Yeah, worse than a Killer Tomato I should Imagine.
Is all this freaky reanimated fruit and veg laying around, the cause of your Sumatran Rat-Monkey infestation down there? |
