SKnote DolA - An old trick for air and enhancement. AAX-DSP.
 

Lots of things, closing and finally releasing them all at once.

DolA is the new, old trick, a noise reduction system used in "Rec" mode for enhancement on tracks and mixes. Nice and transparent, simple and versatile thanks to the compensated input gain knob that takes care of gain staging (so important with this effect) and makes fine-tuning the effect extremely easy.

Being a parallel effect, levels are not matched, the effect is blatant, though.

This is very exciting.

Back in the day we would playback "Dolby A" encoded tracks without decode to breath life into dull audio.

Now we even have a mix knob.

Did the same on our 3M 24 ch 2" tape machine many moons ago :p

Right! Old sweet times. Powerful technology :)

The real difference, a real relief, is the gain staging through that input gain knob, though... Getting noise through a "noise reduction" device because of bad gain staging wasn't so fun, ha! :D

I'm genuinely in love with this plugin, I wasn't around when the Dolby systems were the norm but I've heard all the stories and now I can tell by myself. The effect is remarkable. Great job Quinto!

I doubt I will ever have a session where I don't use this plug-in. And it's DSP.

yes very cool, I do this for a while with the U-HE Satin.

I think its a trick also used by Jacquire King for Vocals.
