Editing Templates

Is there a way to edit a template eg open it WITHOUT being forced to create a new session from it and then "saving as template" and replacing the original template you created?

No. Open the template as a new session. Save as a template over the previous one.

This is why I keep actual sessions for my most-used templates(put them on my Samples drive for future revisions):o
