Using Midi in eleven rack.

I would like to know if there is any tutorial in how to use midi in eleven rack.
I am trying to use my Boss Dr.Drum machine to input data into pro tools via 11R's midi input. The drum machine does not have a USB out.
I would also like to use a Strymon Delay via it's midi out going through 11 R's midi in/out so I can synchronize tempo settings. There does not seem to be much info on Midi with 11R & would appreciate some directions on this.

Thanks.

Re: Using Midi in eleven rack.

The MIDI implementation of the 11R is limited to PC and CC messages. PC messages are program change commands (switching the 11r to another sound or using the 11r to switch another unit's presets) and the CC messages are listed in the manual, you can control most parameters in the 11R via MIDI. What you plan to do is not possible with the 11R's MIDI capabilities.

OP is talking about using Protools with 11R, so 11R will input/output whatever Protools will input/output using midi in/out.

Same principle will apply for the eleven rack.

Yes indeed. There really is nothing Eleven Rack specific you are trying to do here, and certainly the Eleven Rack documentation about how to control it with MIDI will be a complete waste of your time. In this case you are just using the Eleven Rack as a dumb MIDI adapter the same as any other interface with MIDI or any stand alone MIDI controller. Follow that video link given, or other general Pro Tools MIDI tutorials or documentation in the Pro Tools Reference Guide. Work on getting one thing working at a time, only have that one MIDI device connected to the Ekeven Rack to start with and understand carefully the MIDI device addresses being used. Anything with USB Midi on it you can bypass the Eleven Rack entirely--e.g. If that is a Dr. Rhythm Drum machine... It should have USB Midi as well as MIDi on DIN, you could always start just using that, or at least checking USB MIDI works at all if you have other problems. If you are following instructions or a tutorial and things are just not working post a link to what you are trying to do and what exactly does not work... specific requests like that are usually easy to get help with.
