PC 133MHz or PC 100MHz ???
I would prefer to upgrade my system RAM using PC133, but I thought I saw a posting (some time ago) in the DUC saying that PC100 was preferable. The compatibility docs make no mention of this. Any ideas? ...anyone?

Re: PC 133MHz or PC 100MHz ???
Hi vshu/Xman,
In general, anything you can do to make your system faster will help when doing real-time audio with Pro Tools FREE (faster CPUs are better, a faster system bus is better, a disk drive with faster seek times is better, etc.). If you have a chipset in your PC that is capable of taking advantage of PC133 RAM (that is, a chipset with a 133 MHz Front-Side Bus), then using PC133 RAM is best. However, if you have a computer with a FSB (system bus) that runs at 100 MHz or 66 MHz, using PC133 memory won't help you. Regards, Kenn LeGault Digidesign |
