matching tempos - help!!
so i'm trying to make a dj set at 120bpm. i'm bringing in various tracks but i don't know the tempos of these tracks. what would be the easiest way to detect the tempo and then warp each song to match the session tempo?

Re: matching tempos - help!!
thanks! yeah i've seen and played with traktor and it definitely does this, but i want to create this in pro tools. i'm not good enough yet with live controls. pro tools is so feature rich that i'm sure it can handle this, i just haven't been able to figure out how to make it work in a non-laborious way you know?

Re: matching tempos - help!!
Hi, this is the easiest to use.
http://www.all8.com/tools/bpm.htm just tap the tempo and it will give you the bpm of the original. much easier and quicker than beat detective or Identify beat. I use this all the time. gets me the bpm and its right on. I have tried other stand alone tap tempo software and it didnt work well. makes it very easy when using time shift. Chris |
