The 002r doesn't have a standalone mode. The only I/O routing that can be done with the 002r (without booting up PT or other software) is the "Alt-Src to Monitor" button.

Actually it does.

If powered on with an ADAT cable attached, 002R routes inputs 1 thru 8 out over ADAT optical. I recorded an album with this setup.

I remember reading about it in an older version of the user guide, but it seems to be omitted from newer guides. If I can find it then I’ll post a link. Either way I am 10% sure this works.

Why not just try it? Assuming you HAVE the 002R, give it a shot. If you are considering buying one, don't bother(why buy old technology when there's so much good stuff now?). If its a stock 002R, they are not that great anyway and a Behringer ADA8200 will certainly sound better. If its a BLA-modded version....that's another story:o

I have the BLA signature modded 002r but I don't have the unit I'd like to
try it out with..The Cranborne audio R8..
Its a 500 series rack that is an interface with USB and adat I/O.
I was hoping to find out if it works before I buy it.
If I get one, I'll update here!
Peace and thanks!
