Clean a Controller
Hi everyone,
I have an Akai MPK88 controller that I want to fire up after a long time of no use. The keys are yellow and dusty, (the whole thing is dusty), and I want to give it a once-over; get the keys looking better and basically clean the whole outside. Are here solvents or methods that work well or also should be avoided? Always appreciate the responses, Adam |
Re: Clean a Controller
Use the highest isopropyl alcohol that you can get. You should be able to get 91% at any local pharmacy. It evaporates quickly (so you have to work fast) but spray a cloth/paper towel (not directly on the keyboard) and then swipe.
Also works really well to get grime off of computer keyboards (like the Apple keyboards) |

Hi,
Really appreciate it. It’s a great controller and it’s literally collecting dust. I’ll give it a shot! |

Trust me - I've tried both IPA (not the beer) and Windex and the latter wins hands down. |
