No sound available to Windows when Pro Tools LE is running?
 

Hi there,

I've got a problem where I can't use my MBox for audio playback outside of Pro Tools LE when Pro Tools is running.

Can any please help?

This is my first post so hopefully my system specs will appear somewhere. :confused:

Does it work when Pro Tools isn't running?
What programs and content specifically?

What sample rate are you using when Pro Tools is open? (I'm betting something other than 44.1, but I could be wrong)

Yes it works when Pro Tools isn't running.

The sample rate is 48Khz not 44.1Khz.

And that is why it won't work. Pro Tools has the hardware locked at 48, and you are trying to playback in the other program at 44.1.

Try opening or creating a Pro Tools session at 44.1 and see if that solves your problem. ;)

How do I change the sample rate?

Me = Pro Tools Newbie. :-)

You can only "change" the sample rate when creating a new session, so...

Create a new session and select 44.1 as the sample rate. :-)

Odd 44.1KHz is the only option when starting a new session now. Blank Session must have defaulted to 48Khz.

That is because you have something else (your other audio program outside of Pro Tools) using the hardware at 44.1
