Fast Track C400 problems
 

Hi,
I installed Pro Tools First 2021.6.0, after that I installed the last drivers for my old M/Audio Fast Track C400
Then I plugged a bass guitar in the FT and the FT in my macbook pro, and started ProToolsFirst.

Everything seems to be working so far:

-On the FastTrack the guitar is plugged in and so is an external speaker: all sound comes in and goes out.
-In system preferences/audio the FastTrack is listed and audio level does pick up sound (both input and output).
-In system preferences/M-Audio control panel all works and is recognized.
-In Pro Tools First Setup/Hardware the device is working (opens control panel).
-In Pro Tools First Setup/Playback engine it's listed and selected.

However, even when starting a new project based on a template, and pressing play no sound at all... let alone trying to record some audio input. There trying to choose Interface - Analog input L/RL and bunch of other settings but no sound comes in, and no sound goes out...

I hope it's something simple i'm overlooking ;)

The best way to troubleshoot is to make things as simple as possible:o Start with a blank session(not from a template). Add 1 AUDIO track and 1 STEREO INSTRUMENT track. Try recording anything on the audio track(microphone, guitar, bass, etc). If you can record, then you know input is good(even if you can't hear anything). Insert DB-33 on the INSTRUMENT track and use your mouse to "play" the keys on the plugin. If you hear organ, then you know output is good. If none of this is working, go to the hardware setup page and make sure the C400 is selected as the audio engine. Let us know how you make out.
