Also keep in mind that the Mackie Control is supposedly "coming soon".

It seems pretty nice and can be expanded to more faders.

So far that's on the top of my list.

stick with your digi 001...get a Lucid 9624 AD Converter...and a Tl Audio Tube Tracker Mixxing Board(the preamps and eq are amazing...)

Calvin,

If you're in love with the C|24, then just get it. But, if you want a nice 24 moving fader unit with no mic pre's, take a look at the Mixed Logic M24.

I think it lists for ~ $3,500 (Street ~ $3,250). A nice advantage to getting the M24 is it's compatible with other DAW's unlike the C|24. Plus, you'll probably outgrow those pre's in the C|24 pretty quick. Just a thought.

If you want moving faders, mic pre's, Dynamics and EFX what about the Tascam unit? It supports HUI mode now. Those new Yamaha mixers are really nice units as well (in terms of feature set). As far as "Bang for the Buck" is concerned, they're worth a serious look. Don't forget about the Panasonic DA7. A few records have been made on those too.

If its the "Wow Factor" you're after, then the C|24 is it.

In the newest Electronic Musician, (April 2003) Mackie's ads are announcing the addition of Pro Tools for their Mackie Control unit; however their website does not reflect this addition as of tonight...

Well, I think I have made my mind up. I think that the real compitition was between the 002 and the Control 24. With this latest rumor of a firewire digi 003 that is rackmountable. I think I am going to go ahead and try for the Control 24. It may take me 10 months of working 60 hours a week at my 2 jobs but I can do it. I'm young right? I have no life and no girlfriend to slow me down. I might as well.
