Best Export Settings? Pro Tools 12

Hey all I just wanted to know what I can learn from the community here about export settings. Now I know this is a broad topic but let me first start by saying that I export in 44.1khz and 16bit as I should. The concerning thing for me was that all my MP3's come out around 10mb or under 14mb. Sounds normal? Well I've seen mastered songs MP3's around 3.5mb or under 10mb and I thought how do I get that same quality and use up as little space as possible? Pro tools 12 btw. Thanks for reading, genuinely curious.

The size depends on the bit rate for the mp3 conversion. 128 kbps, 256 kbps, or what?

I have it at 320kbps actually now that I've checked. Is 128 better or 256 better? or should I say significant or audibly different? I am tempted into thinking that the lower it is the more signal is lost and the higher the clearer. I know it's to taste but I'd like to preserve space while keeping a radio ready mp3 file if that makes sense. I'm kind of just asking if they all sound the same but it's just changing the megabytes of the mp3.

There's no such thing as a radio ready mp3 unless you're talking about AM radio. The higher bit rate will give a better sound but it's still an mp3 which are not known for high fidelity.
