No issues here on a Mac. Do you have the latest QuickTime installed? What is the codec used in your embedded video?

Bounce to quicktime is not supported in 2020.3 on catalina

It is very strange for a company to release broken software to the public.
It is very confusing and annoying that you have to read up on what does or doesn't work in these past few versions.

THe OP is on Windows.

The QuickTime issues in Catalina are more on Apple for abandoning QuickTime 7 functions in Catalina and nothing to do with the OP’s issue.

I've not had crashes but do have lots of issues which I didn't have in previous versions. I get an error message to the effect that it can't use the original quicktime settings, so I have to manually transcode to a new format. It then doesn't transcode the video at all. I've found if I select the video track first before exporting its more reliable and I usually don't get the error message... needs more testing my end.

I guess this is a nasty knock on effect of the new video engine. Some gremlins yet to iron out.

Thanks for all your input. Before 2020.3 release everything was fine when bouncing to QT. The video file is an mp4 in this session. Haven't tested with other movie file type. Uninstalled and rolled back to 2019.12. Everything works fine now.

Anyone else still getting video engine issues in 2013.3? I usually get sent H.264 movs. Here's what I've found:

I can't bounce to QT unless the video track itsef is selected in the project window track header. If I'm on any other track I get the following error message (sic):

"No valid same as source selection found. Please use the QuickTime Settings dialog to choose a video format to transcode to".

OKing this and then manually selecting a different format results in failure. However, cancelling out and selecting the video track itself means normal performance, without the dialog.

It's also playing 16:9 videos in squished 4:3.
