Slow Starting

Does PT 8.0 take a long time to load on you PC users?
I have 2.8 Ghz and 3.7 Gb of Ram.

Re: Slow Starting

What is a long time?

What version?

What OS?

To answer based on what I know about your setup I would have to say... Yes and no.

Re: Slow Starting

Depends on how many plug-ins you have installed.

Re: Slow Starting

Not normal, for me less than a minute. But that's with a WD BLACK DRIVE.

Re: Slow Starting

Yeah weird...maybe 3 plug-ins, 4 max.
And this is just launching the program...not loading a session, you know?

Re: Slow Starting

does PT display any particular message on the start up window for a long time?

Re: Slow Starting

I don't know. I don't have any third party plugs, just got the software last week. Maybe there's a way to see what is active on start up? I've closed sessions with minimal plug ins to see if that would help when I start up...same thing.

Re: Slow Starting

Have you cleared your non Digi startup items and your non essential services?

Re: Slow Starting

No messages but it does progress through a fair amount of plug ins.
I think Tom is on the right path. I just don't know how to deactivate them.
Maybe it has to do with the template sessions...they are loaded with PI's.
I have been using the lo usage versions though?
