Core Card Fail
 
I have an HD core card PCIX that has failed Digitest. Assuming the card is toast and must be replaced. My whole system has been running like crap for a long time. this may be why. a slowly dying card. Anyone know why these fail or die. Is it really scrap and if i replace what rev. card should I look at getting??

Running PT 8.1.1 on Mac OS 10.6.8

Search. If it's a common problem it will have been written about before on DUC.
e.g. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=281993 (covers the common resistor damage, search carefully around the card for any other obvious problems, compare it to your good one if in doubt).

Almost regardless of the cause the option is likely to buy a used card.
