What's With The Pic?
 

Now I understand I'm probably about to get my head bitten off, but there's something that really jars me on the DUC.

I understand that the acronym sounds like the word 'Duck' but using the picture of a Duck for the logo seems a little weird to me?

Am I the only one who thinks this, am I anally retentive or is anyone confused/bothered/amused by this?

Now I'm going to hide behind the sofa! :confused:

Hehe... yeah irks me too. I've always said Dee-You-Sea, so Duc(k) too a moment for me to get it, and then I thought, but why would you do it? But hey...

The colour used to identify new/old posts in the forum's main menu needs a more urgent fix, IMO. I can barely see whether something new's been posted without opening the forum page itself.

I do like the snappier response though.

It's a little corny, at best. If it must be a duck, make it a cartoon one, wearing a cape or something.

Never even made the connection. Shows you how much I'm paying attention. Its a nice looking Duck though. Brings an organic touch to our digital world. :-)

lol...the first thing I thought, was...you have all of your beautiful sites with bleeding edge technologies and cutting edge design, and then we get to "the duc" and you slap on an upgly jpeg of a duck? At a minimum you could've had one of your illustrator guys draw one up that matched more with the style of the forum, maybe use the same digidesign font instead of, what is that arial with a bevel and emboss?. Maybe throw on a transparency. Do we really need to see the water to know it's a Duck? :-)

Perhaps we should start a logo design competition with a poll to choose the favourite, anything but a duc(k)!
