192 I/O input died
While patching some outboard in and out of my 192 I/O via my patchbay, I got some feedback somewhere, don't remember exactly how. After this loud sound-burst, one input died. I actually felt a smell of burnt electronics, but I wonder how could this happen, I don't have any 48v units connected to this bay.
Is there any hardware tests i can run to confirm what happened? Digitest is just for the dsp-cards, right? Thanks, Hakan Glante |

Nobody?

Well, the only real hardware test would be to try to record something through that input. DigiTest isn't able to test inputs directly.

Re: 192 I/O input died
It's not possible to record on one of the analog inputs.
Everytime I launch PT or open/close the digi hardware menu, that input puts out a short sound that peaks on the led display (input 4) on the 192 I/O. Any clues? Thanks again |

Sounds like it's time to send it in for repair.

Re: 192 I/O input died
I've been guilty of many a feedback loop with various Digi hardware and I guess I've been lucky never to have this happen. I'm assuming that you've tried turning everything off and letting it cool before turning it back on. I can't see how it would be software related, but you could always try trashing prefs and all that. Unfortunately, though, it sounds to me as though the 192 needs service if you want all 8 analog inputs.
