Digi Core Audio Manager problem.

I have an intel imac 20" 2 Ghz 1GB Ram 10.4.7 with latest updates, DIgi 002 rack and ProTools LE 7.1.1 cs1, and seem to be having a problem with the Digi Core Audio Manager locking up after several hours of being idle and cannot force quit. I do have sleep mode off and and all power settings turned off. Is anyone else having this problem?

Re: Digi Core Audio Manager problem.

I have a very similar system and I'm also having issues with Core Audio Manager. Not as severe but mine often cuts of the signal flow with while doing something as simple as listening to iTunes (via the MBox) and just moving the mouse. I have to restart iTunes and the Core Audio manager.

Re: Digi Core Audio Manager problem.

I have a Mac Pro 2.66 and I'm having the same problem.
I'll play a song in iTunes and suddenly it's interrupted by white noise. And it doesn't stop until I restart iTunes and Core Audio.
I just experienced something else...I was playing a song and it suddenly stopped. I tried to resume playing it and it doesn't start.
What gives???

Re: Digi Core Audio Manager problem.

My friend found an article on the digidesign site that has talks about MacBooks but might also apply to MacBook Pros:

Pro Tools LE 7 with Apple MacBook

The following Apple MacBook computers are supported with Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, Mbox 2, and Mbox systems with Pro Tools LE 7.1.1 for Mac OS X 10.4 for Intel-based processors:

MacBook
MacBook 13" White 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo
MacBook 13" White 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo
MacBook 13" Black 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo
Compatibility Alert
Use of Mbox, Mbox 2 or Other USB Audio Devices on the Left-Rear USB Port Is Not Recommended
There are 2 USB ports on the left side of the MacBook models listed above.
Due to internal USB architecture issues on the MacBook, use of Digidesign, M-Audio, or third-party USB audio devices is supported on the front USB port only (the port farthest away from the screen).
Use of such devices on the rear USB port is not advised because it may cause audio interrupts and/or dropped samples.
However, the use of an iLok on the rear port has been qualified and is fully supported.
