any updates on using AVB on Mac OS Sierra?

My primary 'audio' computer is a 2012 Macbook Pro (w/ ethernet port) that I am about to install a faster SSD drive to, and ideally I would install Sierra and refresh all my old software, so although important to know, please note that I am not asking about whether a new Macbook with USB-c connections only will connect.

As of last time I checked the 'broken' AVB connectivity in Sierra was still being worked on and I was warned not to upgrade, so can anyone tell me whether its now ok to upgrade to Sierra and my laptop will see S3Lx or S6L AVB connectivity? If ok to upgrade now, any particular version of drivers/software I should ensure I am installing to this will all work ok?

thx

Unfortunately we still are waiting on Apple to address an open bug. Recording on Sierra is fine, playback has clocking issues.

I would suggest using El Capitain until Apple can resolve this bug.

OK, thanks. Any thoughts on whether this will be addressed in subsequent Sierra updates or only when High Sierra is released?

Is Sierra 10.12.6 still not working properly today with S3L-X?

macOS Sierra 10.12.6 and the Avid S3L-X work fine for me, both for playback and recording.

None of the later macOS High Sierra releases (10.13.0–10.13.6) work for playback for me, although I have no problem recording.
