sharing sessions across the internet....
Hi,
Can I share my recorded session(s) file with another producer across the internet? Another words, say I recorded some beats with my pro tools le and I send the file that I recorded in pro tools le to another music producer to have him/her record key/synths into my session file while this music producer uses pro tools m-powered. evon |
Re: sharing sessions across the internet....
That should work fine. If it is a protools session it should open into any version of PT be it LE, HD or mpowered. Obviously there will be massive compromises if trying to open an HD session on LE, but LE to mpowered should be fine.

Make sure you use the same plugins, etc... also, make sure your file is self contained: that is that the disk allocation for each track is in your session folder and all audio tracks are in there. The just Zip the whole lot and upload it via getdropbox.com that's the easiest solution... And now that I come to think about it, with get drop box you don't even have to zip it, meaning you can only download the parts that he's added and you'll be ready to go...

Just for the sake of pragmatism:
If it's only a beat you might be easier off just sending a bounce as mp3. That is as long as your collaborator is not suspected to fiddle around with plugins, of course. You could also send stems if monitor mixing is an issue. |
