Pro Tools locks up or crashes when backing up
 

i'm running pro tools 9.0.5 on an intel imac 10.6.8. the last 3 times in a row when saving a session to my backup drive, i either get the spinning pinwheel or PT crashes. i'm backing up the same way i always have for years (File/Save Copy In), so i don't get this. i thought maybe the large size of the session was instigating this problem so i deleted all unused files but the problem persists. ran Disk Doctor, which says everything is fine w/all drives. the session also runs smoothly. i'd like to think that this means that my audio drive is fine, and maybe my backup drive is on its way out?

do you have a 3rd drive to try backing up to?
maybe permissions on your backup drive got wonky?

not a bad idea. i'll give it a try with a spare i've got sitting in a closet.
