Massenburg Design Works MDWEQ5 crahes PTHD 2018.1
 

Hi all

I updated PTHD to 2018.1 and now everything seems fine, but i have a big problem with Massenburg Design Works MDWEQ5... It crashes Protools.
It doesn´t matter, if i use AAX DSP or Native... If i insert the plugin Protools crashes.
I use the latest build of Windows 10 and HDX...and the latest version of the plugin. I also tried to trash the preferences and reload every plugin again, but still no luck...

Can someone reproduce this behavier... Will there be an update for the MDWEQ5....
If not, i have to go back to 12.8.3... With this version, the plugin works fine...

i assume you are on the latest version of MDW .. what version is that in case someone here needs to know for testing .????

Both the Mac and the UAD versions (apparently) work fine.

Windows users deserve an Update - or - a Refund!

Sir George – please take a look at all the (non-stock) plug-ins recently updated to 18_1 by Avid.

Fixing the MDW EQ5 Windows version would mean heaps more than a "cherry on top of SD3" - it's the vibe - it's the credibility - it's 2018 and we're up for it!

I tested it on my Mac Pro and there, it works fine under PTHD2018.1...
On my Windows HDX Machine both aax DSP and Native are crashing ProtoolsHD...

So it is a problem of the Windows version of the plugin.

The latest Windows version is MDW EQ 5.0.2.19
and the latest Mac version is MDW EQ 5.0.2.34

I hope there will be an update for Windows. For now I must go back to 12.8.3

I hope Jeffro can elevate this matter, so you can use 18_1 in the near future

i noticed that the windows version is not even qualified for windows 10.

Only 7 and 8.

12.8.3 of PT was the last version qualified for 7 and 8.

I know you are saying 12.8.3 worked on win 10 with it, but technically it's not supported.:confused:

Windows version has been broken for years with zero comments from Avid :(

I have seen this issue with MDW for atleast 5 years now and started be a real problem by the time around PT11 came out. Sad for the win crowd. We use UAD-2 version and it sounds great so hopefully this will be fixed before we get an App where we don't even need a DAW anymore, just think what you wanna hear in your head and vóila - Finished song right there in your head :D
