i have a problem with "Pencil Tool". Why it's always in "square mode" ?
Hello,
This is my first time posting my problem in community. Sorry for my poor English. I have bought a new iMac recently, and upgraded to Pro Tools 10.3.6. When I used Pencil Tools to edit, it was always in "square mode". The Pencil Tools logo was still in freehand mode. I captured screen below. http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/9702/y3p.png Uploaded with ImageShack.us I tried to use Mackie Control to edit, but it was still the same when I zoom in. My Computer : the newest iMac 27inch, 32GB RAM, Intel i7 3.4GHz, 3TB Fushion Drive. My Audio Interface : RME UFX Please Help Me !:confused::confused: Thank you very much ! |

Try using "Slip" mode (upper left of the Edit window, or F2 on your keyboard). I think the cursor is snapping to your grid.

Hey there,
Hold your left mouse button down on the pencil tool. A dropdown menu of options will appear. Choose "freehand". |

The Audio Track was normal when I edited volume, but Instrument Track & MIDI Track didn't. Thank you for your reply. |

MIDI automation cannot be interpolated in the same way that audio automation data is. MIDI always only offers 127 discrete values, which is why you will always see steps (trying to emulate ramps). Except for pitch bend, which can offer values of +/- 8192 — to devices that support that resolution.
IHTH. |
