D-Control Faders

Cross-posting here 'cause the ICON forum is pretty dead...

So apparently the original P&G faders are discontinued(I don't believe it... I'm trying to get in touch with P&G directly)

... AVID is saying the ALPS that are in the D-Command work in the D-Control... which they do... but they don't physically fit in mine... the fader is too deep... it hits some circuitry...

anyone else have this problem?
Or know of a stash of new P&G faders?

Really? That's quite interesting as they're a lot cheaper. Was that someone in engineering? And you're saying you mounted one on the panel, connected it and it works but you just can't re-mount the panel without it hitting circuitry?

Cheers,
Pete

Re: D-Control Faders

Yes, the ALPS mount into the plate fine, and work when plugged in... they're just a few millimeters too deep for me to close it all up.

what I *THINK* happened is...

My D-Control is one of the earliest ones (from what I've been told)
At some point it had to get retrofitted with some new guts to be able to do multi-mode... I think that mod, might make the fader bay not quite deep enough.

But that's just a guess...

Re-Surface does have a supply of P&Gs... and I was able to find some direct from P&G... so i have options... Not cheap options... but options...
