24/96khz with mix and 888/24 i/o

I dont know if you all know this But, if you have an audio device that does dual wire aes/ebu with multiple aes/ebu i/o's like say the tascam dm24 and apogees with aes/ebu connectors, Then you CAN record 24/96khz and even 24/192khz on a humble mix and 888. This would off course reduce the number of ins and outs and doubles or quadruples your tracks but this extends the life of your mix hardware this off course is all digital btw so dont expect the onboard convertors to suddenly reproduce higher sample rates.

Ihave recorded on a tascam dm24 and the results are identical the way to set up is as follows
create a stereo channel or 2 monos set them to recieve from aes 1-2 etc hard pan left then set up another stereo or 2 monos set to pan hard right. set sample rate to half your audio device sample rate e.g tascam dm24 to 88.2 digi to 44.1 etc set audio device (tascam) to DUAL wire and set word clock to double and presto.

more details reply or email.
cheers
