Tell me what happened
So I can keep it from happening again.
I recorded a stereo acoustic guitar take. I realized that the right channel mic was lower than the left. Did some edits and then shifted the regions to two mono tracks. Audio suite gain +3db processed the right region and shifted back to the stereo track. But WTF, some of the sections were 1 beat late. But not all sections. 1/2 a verse would be syncopated, and the next 1/2 would sync. Huh? I tried 3 times, and finally also gain boosted the left region by .6 db and viola!, back in sync. What happened? |

maybe u need a Fastermouse:eek:
:D hey FM :D are u on .3 or .1? Some others have talked about files being out of sync on the .3 build... |
Re: Tell me what happened
Don't know what happened, but next time, either split the 2 and leave them split, or select a dual-mono EQ plugin so you can balance the 2 sides with that plugin and keep the original stereo track intact. There's lots of ways to accidentally shift things. I did it today with 4 BGV tracks. I grouped them and tried to copy/paste a chorus to another part of the song. They pasted fine but when I went to nudge them into alignment, only 2 of the 4 regions would move, no matter what I did(all 4 were still highlighted, but they would only move in pairs, upper 2 or lower 2). Things that make you go "Hmmmmmm"

Re: Tell me what happened
Strange, out of all versions of 8, 8.0.1cs1 and 8.0.3cs 1 were the worst for me. Luck of the draw for me I guess. 8.0cs3 and 8.0.3 have been the best (not excluding issues on all) but minor.

Re: Tell me what happened
I am going to dual boot with another drive, but honestly don't know how and haven't bothered to find out.:o
What was really weird was that only some of the regions were shifted, and they were shifted exactly a one beat. As I said, I fixed it, but since I have made some mistakes before that were just ignorant, such as editing on EA tracks, I wanted to make sure that I hadn't gone down Stupid Avenue. |
