layouts strange behavior
Hey Eddie.
I generally use two layouts and switch back and forth between them. Layout A has my VCA's and layout B is default which simply has everything set to auto-choose. When I select layout A, the S3 populates the far left fader with track 12 no matter where I had previously selected. Start a new session and create 40 tracks or so. Attention track 20 - the S3 spills 20-35 - so far so good:-) Select layout 1 from the S3 (named default in this case) - S3 spills 12-27 -not good  Attention track 6 - S3 spills 6-21 :-) Enable layout 1 - S3 spills 12-27:confused: if a add more tracks to the session, the layout simply replaces the default starting track with whatever falls into the 12th slot. EDIT ***** I've been doing some more testing and found the following. The track that is selected at the time that a layout is created will become the default TRACK in the auto-assign layout. So. 1. Create 30 blank tracks. 2. Select track 1 3. Create a layout called Layout A and leave all slots blank (auto-assign) 4. Save layout 5. go back to PT and select track 10 6. created a second layout called Layout B and leave all slots blank (auto-assign) 7. Save layout now when you select layout A from the S3 it will populate with 1-16 when you select layout B it will populate with 10-26 The behavior is identical on Eucontrol 3.61 and 3.7 Please help, Thanks |

Re: layouts strange behavior
Hey Eddie,
Just wondering if you've had a second to look at this. Thanks |
Re: layouts strange behavior
I think this is working as expected. When you save Layout A you are saving tracks 1-16, when you save Layout B you have selected track 10 (and I presume you have bank to selected on) so you are saving tracks 10-26

Re: layouts strange behavior
Ah, I understand.
Is there any way to suspend layouts or make some kind of a zero layout default? It would be handy and make a lot of sense for when you are mixing and you want to jump to a layout, say VCA's, adjust some levels and then pop back to where you were in the session, ie, selected track. |
Re: layouts strange behavior
Unfortunately not I think.
