MBOX Drivers

Hello, I've recently borrowed an Mbox from a friend who did not have the driver disk. I was hoping to use the Mbox with Cubase on my PC... It's the original Focusrite Mbox by digidesign. Does anyone know where I can get the drivers? I've been to the digidesign site, but there's no clear download.

Any advice would be appreciated:)

thanks!

Re: MBOX Drivers

You will need the Standalone Windows audio drivers available from this page, and you will want to use the ASIO driver from that installation. I highly recommend you download and read the documentation as well, as there are certain limitations, especially the fact that Digidesign drivers are single client drivers..

I'm curious though, why would you borrow an mBox for use with Cubase? There are lots of better choices of audio interfaces for Cubase. The benefit of the mBox is, IMHO, the ability to use Pro Tools.

Re: MBOX Drivers

Hello, thank you for your response... I use Cubase in my studio. I have a client that wants to do some remote recording and I don't have a portable rig, though he does... So I'm using my labtop and his interface. I've never used protools and unforuantely now is not the time to learn...

So, I downloaded those drivers and after fighting with them for a few hours, seem to have everything working... Except for some dumb reason, now when I listen to Itunes on this computer, even after switching back to the original sound card and drivers, I get pops and clicks... how weird is that!

thanks!

Re: MBOX Drivers

There's a known conflict with the Digidesign drivers and Quicktime audio playback, though it shouldn't affect you at all if you switch back to using the standard drivers as your windows audio output.

Also, there is specific configuration information for the Wavedriver and Quicktime/iTunes, but had you taken my advice and read the documentation, you would know that.
