Avid Pro Audio Community - 11 rack disconnects

Hello,
Its been a long time since I've ventured here. I am having a recurring and nagging problem with my 11rack set up. I find that I have to restart my computer every time I use PT for the 11rack to show up in the playback engine drop-down. Once I turn off the rack and turn it on again at a later time, the 11rack wont show up in the drop down unless I restart again. I think I have all the latest firmware and software updates. I'm running version 12.4 on a mac but its done this on previous versions also. I am finding it really inhibits my music production since it takes so much time to restart all the time. Any help would be appreciated.
