ProTools LE Hardware Compatibility?

I am speccing out a system for someone and want to sell them on ProTools LE. I am trying to find the most cost effective solution with regards to the hardware. Is there any non-digidesign hardware out there that works with ProTools LE. If so, would you recommend it or does it suck?

Protools LE only works with a Digidesign interface connected

yah, just found that on the specs page...

I need 16 tracks in at one time, should I buy a Digimax or another 002r?
