my 003 factory freezes during sessions.
 

whats up ya'll

i have windows 7 home premium 64-bit OS, n i just upgraded my pro tools le to 8.0.4. Everything works great, except during a session my 003 will freeze sorta. the controls still work but my screen on the 003 will freeze and sometimes it will make this wierd buzz sound n cut out my audio even tho the session is still playing. does anyone else have this problem? or know how to fix it? i tried uninstalling the drivers n downloading the new ones on the digidesign website, but it still does the same thing.

I've seen a similar issue posted before, but to know if there is a solution for your system, we're going to need details about your system.

Every windows system is different, even ones that are seemingly exactly the same.

If you would post more details about your system (using a Sandra report), and include what other software you may have installed (ALL other software, not just audio stuff), it will be much easier to assist you in troubleshooting your problem.

I too am having the same issues. Worked great from7.1 to cs8.0.3, now 8.0.4 locks 003 Factory faders stay up led's don't operate after different mixing changes. Will also not allow me to use the firmware updater by pressing the Auxin7/8 and mute, launch PT and says I need to connect a PT hardware device.

Should I assume your audio drive is that 5400 RPM my book? If so, the drive is too slow for PT. You need a 7200 RPM drive with at least 16MB of cache for your sessions.

The onboard graphics present another potential issue.

I'm pretty sure ASIO4ALL is not compatible with windows 7 yet, especially not with Win64. (I could be wrong, but I have seen many complaints).

However, I have seen ASIO4ALL cause problems even in XP 32-bit, so I would definitely recommend removing ASIO4ALL. Period. :)


FL Studio 9 is also currently "up in the air" with regards to Pro Tools. You should be using at least version 9.1 currently, but you might also want to try the new 9.5 beta, but that's a whole other potential nest of problems.

My 003 console spontaneously shows the same behaviour from time to time.
Faders stuck, LEDs frozen. Transport buttons work.

PT 8.04 LE, Win 7 Pro 32 bit. Never happened before 8.04.
