What exactly do us HD users get for a thousand bucks?

Hi,

After not too long ago purchasing a PT9 HD upgrade which added ummm about 2 software features for HD users. i'm expected to cough up a thousand dollars for what exactly?

Have i missed something? do we get a free trip to disney land or something:confused:

What's driving the thousand bucks price tag for an upgrade???

Well, I have a feeling your HD6 would provide a nice trade-in path... ;)

That's the only real logic I can see behind such a massive upgrade price. Incentive to upgrade hardware to get the software as well.

Disk Cache could be a big selling point for some, too.

I'd have to think that the incentive is trying to phase out the old accel system out quickly. It's more advantageous to get the new HDX card that the software comes with, than just forking out the 1000 bucks. Yes it seems comparatively more expensive, but not when you compare the power value into the equation.

I think you guys are correct. The upgrade fee is just a hint DON`T DO IT but trade in your old system instead.

Like me who has a legacy HD2 PCIe system but already a HD I/O interface, it would be interesting to see that kind of exchange offer for my two cards swapped to one HDX card.
