Re: Issues installing protools LE 8 on Windows XP SP2
This may or may not solve your problem. I'd highly recommend updating your system to Windows XP SP3. The updates are free from the Microsoft website. I was having issues installing PT 8 on my new Lenovo laptops which traditionally run PT w/o issue. I installed XP SP3, ALL of the updates from the MS (some more patches were released after SP3), and updated my drivers, PACE drivers, etc.
After I installed ALL updates, PT ran flawlessly. DO NOT install Microsoft Internet Explorer 8! |
Re: Issues installing protools LE 8 on Windows XP SP2
ok are there specific updates and drivers i need to install to make it work other then the sp3 or are they all included in the sp3 pack?

Re: Issues installing protools LE 8 on Windows XP SP2
Like I said, it may or may not solve your problem! XP SP3 contains with it many important updates. You can easily click on GO TO THE MICROSOFT AUTOMATIC UPDATES website on the SECURITY area on your CONTROL PANEL. This will take you directly to the UPDATES website and tell you which updates are ready for your particular computer.
Good luck! |

Re: Issues installing protools LE 8 on Windows XP SP2
I also had a problem with my installer DVD:
http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=259056 I contacted Digi through the Avid support page. They got back to me in one day with a link to download the installer. 3.5 gigs of data downloading later...worked fine. |
