Issues connecting PreSonus 16.4.2 to new IMac

Processor - 3.6 GHZ 8-Core Intel Core I9
Memory - 80 GB RAM
Storage - 2 TB SSD
Graphics - Radeon Pro 580X w/ 8 GB GDDR5
Mouse & Trackpad - Magic Trackpad 2
Pro Apps
Logic Pro X

Pro Tools 2019

Interface - Pre Sonus 16.4.2

I've got the ProTools 2019 installed.

I'm having difficulty with the PreSonus 16.4.2 being recognized by Pro Tools 2019.

I've done the updates per PreSonus. But ProTools 2019 isn't recognizing the PreSonus..

I already bought the Fire Wire to Thunder Bolt Adapter & a Tunder Bolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunder Bolt 2 Adapter as I was told I needed to do... (As there is no Fire Wire to Thunder Bolt 3 (USB-C) Adapter..)

All is connected as prescribed. Still Pro Tools doesn't recognize the PreSonus Interface..

Now I'm being told I need a Thunder Bolt 2 to Fire Wire 800 Adapter..

Any constructive advice as to how I can resolve the Issue at this point is appreciated..

From the Presonus 16.4.2 interface.. I'm using the same FireWire Cable that I've been using with my MBP for the past few years with PT10. It works perfect.

My new Imac requires Thunderbolt3 (USB-C). In addition to the FireWire Cable coming out the PreSonus 16.4.2 Interface, to make that connection, I need 2 Adapters. Thunderbolt to FireWire & Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C). I purchased both from my local Apple Store..

After connecting Interface, Cable & Adapters to new IMac Protools isn't recognizing the Interface..

I've double checked with PreSonus, Apple, Pro Tools & Sweetwater.. None of them have been able to resolve the Issue.

Can I use that many Adapters & Firewire Cable & be able to make the Connection from Interface to IMac without issues?

Any ideas?

You don't say what OSX is on the new machine but it's a safe bet it's some form of Mojave. You do know about the security issues that have changed with Mojave right? See this page as it may help you: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209175
What specific PT 2019 revision do you have installed? Right now PT 2019.6 isn't supported on the latest version of Mojave.

Assuming that the cables &adapters work , is the PreSonus device 'visible' and recognized on the Thunderbolt bus, and further on on the AMS setup as well ?

Been having issues & dealing with Tech Support. Apple thinks there may have been damage in Shipping.. They are sending me a replacement...

Might be worth installing Studio One Artist and see if that DAW sees your 16.4.2.

Here's an even simpler way: does AMS see the interface?
And specifically to Lars:
Did you go to the link I gave above about Mojave?

When I was looking at desks for my studio I was looking at the 32 channel version and back then presonus wasn’t or couldn’t confirm connectivity with the latest Mac’s so I went with a Yamaha TF5. That was nearly 2 years ago..... seems not much has changed.... have they fixed the issues of DAW control for Studio One yet? They couldn’t even get that going and at that time people who brought in were still waiting many months after the release....

According to Pro Tools Tech Support PT 2019.6 works with Mojave 10.14.6 the most recent versions..
