C.D. Burning software

I'm in need of some C.D. burning software. I came from P.C. land and was using Sound Forge. I've seen Master List, Wave Burner, Toast. Any suggestions on which is a good choice for Mastering and back ups?

Thanks and God Bless!

Perhaps the best choice for mastering would be Masterlist Cd. And for simple backing up you would want to use Toast. Just one guys opinion.

I don´t know about you guys, but for mastering Adaptec's Jam is good enough. Isn't it?

I'd go with Jam....Same features as Masterlist at half the price....

I also use Jam. Not only is it a great program, it's easy to learn. I haven't even opened up the manual yet. VERY user friendly, and to me that's real important since I have to spend most of my time figuring out how to use Pro Tools. http://www.digidesign.com/ubb/images/icons/grin.gif

I use Jam myself, but there is a demo of Waveburner available if you want to try it. It looks like good competition to Jam.

Jam is just so simple to use...

But start with checking these for compatibility with your cd burner :

Waveburner http://www.emagic.de/english/product...veburner3.html
http://www.emagic.de/english/support.../wb11infe.html

Jam http://www.roxio.com/en/jhtml/cdrdat...tibility.jhtml

Interesting, because i bought Waveburner & afterwards ....right .
Happily i could return it .

Marc - What was your experience with Waveburner? Is this different than Waveburner Pro? I was thinking of looking into this more. i know you can't use the digi hardware for playback though. But other than that it looks like a great program from the ad.

Re: C.D. Burning software

Natural,
don't know about Waveburner Pro,
but Waveburner wasa real pleasure to work with, only....i couldn't burn cd's, because my cd burner was not supported by WB .
Sound on Sound did a review in juli 99 together with Audiowerk2 Production Kit .
Go to http://www.sospubs.co.uk/search/query.asp
& do a search on "Waveburner"

Cheers

Re: C.D. Burning software

I bought a CD burner to be compatible with Masterlist CD (actually their 'preferred' list).

The burner (Tascam CD Burner Pro) came with Toast and Jam free.

They seem to work fine.

Would there be any reason I would need Masterlist???
