5.0 aux weird behaviour

Hi,

doing a project in 7.1. Created a 7.1 Out in Film mode and also a 7.1 bus in I/O Setup using Film mode as well. A master Aux is feeding the speakers through the 7.1 Out and the 7.1 bus is used to route tracks and other Aux busses to it.

Now I create a 5.0 Aux bus to insert a 5.0 reverb on it. It feeds the master Aux as above. It´s out is 7.1»5.0.

The LCR and Lfe get properly routed to the corresponding channels in the 7.1 master Aux bus, but the L&R side surrounds get routed to the L&R rear surrounds. Not only on the speakers, but I can check it on the meters as well, so it´s not an hardware mismatch on the physical outputs.

I double checked the mono sub paths in I/O Setup and everything is as should. Everything in Film mode.

So I assume there is something wrong in the internal bussing of PT, unless I may be missing something.

Has anyone experienced this or has 5 min to try it? Thanks.

Running PT 2019.6 HDX1 and MAC OS Mojave.

Nothing is wrong with Pro Tools internal bussing.

I think we've already gone over this before but internal bussing has nothing to do with "Film mode" setting. That only has to do with output order. Internally, Pro Tools only operates in one mode. Always.

For surround channels, the order Pro Tools chooses to use is surround 5.1 goes to Rsr and Lsr and not Lss and Rss. In your bussing (bus i/o), you can rearrange the subpath you address to Lss and Rss instead for surround/5.1/5.0 subpaths. That is the easiest way. Then output to that subpath.
