FS: Digidesign Factory 003
 

Selling my 003. Fantastic unit that has served me well since mid-2007. I have done a lot of recording projects in my smoke free studio. I'm not a "ride the faders guy" rather I use Automation in PT, so the faders are still like new. All automation works, and it's fun to see the faders move during playback of a song.

Reason for the sale is it's time for a tech refresh. Second reason is that I used to have a 360 SQ FT recording studio where I recorded entire bands. To get extra I/O, I used a light-pipe PreSonus DigiMax FS plugged into the 003, which gave me up to 16 simultaneous inputs in ProTools.The 003 has 4 very nice pre-amps onboard, dedicated to (4) XLR or 1/4" inputs. To use the 1/4" with the on-board pre's just select the "DI" button associated with each input gain knob. There are another (4) line-level inputs. For those I used (4) PreSonus Tube-Pre's to max out all 8 inputs, then as stated light-pipe from the DigiMax. I was recording full bands, 6 pc drum kit, upright bass, b3, guitars, acoustics, vocals, etc... All sounded wonderful.



Today my studio is relegated to a 2nd bedroom in a different house, in other words, we downsized and I'm no longer recording bands. My mid-2007 iMac needs to be replaced, and at this point, we're just going through everything. I no longer need the horsepower and I/O of the 003.



Pains me to sell it, but we need to downsize and streamline. Pricing should be commensurate with others pricing. The unit is big, and heavy so sadly shipping will be a little more. It will be professionally boxed and packed by my local UPS Store which has done a great job shipping guitars and amplifiers for me.



No box, no ProTools Software, No Manual (can be found on-line), no iLok. Lower 48 United States only, no overseas shipping.
