Little off topic ( but not really )
It's because this can be used as a crystal ball and interesting enough to make you wonder how long a company can bleed
Since we're all investors in the product, the corporate side is showing signs of a future using alternate products I'm not a finance specialist in any way, just make a living around the products http://money.cnn.com/quote/quote.html?symb=AVID The fact it's down 64% (52 weeks ) makes me wonder what is really going on, along with the lack of enthusiasm in the current avid products path and conjunction with this info in the link makes you wonder what will be ? Once a company announce a new product line, no one buys anything, instead wait for the new product!! Another reason why avid should have planned the transition better and encouraged people to keep buying with incentives to upgrade when it comes or get better deals on the current products. But as we see, anyone who buy a hd system now will have about one year and thats your lot!! Chris |

I presume the old blues aren't being supported as they're probably incapable of processing interleaved files / 64 bit / or whatever....? Or am I just being naive?

Your links really only serve to point out why no one makes significant money in the stock market based on articles like these. AVID's stock picture right now looks very similar to the way it did in 2002--just before rising something like 800% over the next couple of years. Apple was doing the same thing in 2002. Someone's buying AVID under the radar right now at bargain prices, and they'll probably do very well over the next few years. |
