Another Effects Question

I've heard it both ways, but still haven't heard anything overly convincing about mixing with effects on the master fader. Some people suggest putting the effect on the master fader during the mixing process. Others say to wait until it has been mixed and bounced to 2 track before adding effects. I find sometimes that it is easier to mix with the effect on the master fader, especially with compression. Comments? Suggestions?

Very much a matter of opinion. Of the engineers I speak to regularly some do, some don't and some ( like me ) do sometimes.

I recommend doing a 2 track master with and without your mix bus proccessing and giving both to your mastering engineer.
