help!

i recently heard about a "dazzle box" or rather a firewire converter box. so basically it will convert a firewire signal to an rca, thus you can hook up an external monitor for pro-tools without having to use an aurora fuse card (for example). however, i was told i needed to download some firewire driver (or plug-ing?) or something to allow the quicktime movie to be sent out of the firewire while using pro-tools. am i just freaking out and it does this anyways? has anyone else heard about this? i was actually told about this at the digi design conference in NYC just a month ago from at least two sources... i run a digi 001 on a mac G4.

thanks all! images/icons/confused.gif
