Elton's new album

While we seem to be concerned with all the toys and effects Pro Tools can give us, I'm impressed with Elton John's new album. It was recorded on analog tape and is very "under-produced". Mostly piano, guitar, bass and drums with a little keyboards. And the vocal is way out in front.

I agree. I love the production...amazing McCartney-esque bass line/tone on the single...the rest of the album has an interesting variety of piano tones too...

Did you notice Billy Preston is on organ on that track? ...even more of a connection to Beatles production!

Maybe he'll get back to making great albums like he did in the 70s
