Compiling vocals

What's the best way to do that?
Record each take to a new playlist or just on top of one another?

I like to use separate tracks so I can see everything, then splice the good parts into a new track.

Hello, fellow countryman, here´s how I do it: (PT LE Mac)

I record multiple playlists. I we record f.ex verse 2 several times I make shure that recording begins at the same place every time so that I can easily test different takes w/the "takes-popup-list". This comes when you click w/the selection tool at the beginning of a region, holding command-something I think images/icons/confused.gif

For a better overwiev I make many temporary extra tracks and just select the different vocal playlists there and solo each (w/"latch solo" OFF in prefs) and copy and paste between them.
