cAN'T GET NEW MIDI EXPRESS (USB) TO WORK WITH PROTOOLS

Mac G4 500mhz 512 ram
Protools Le 5.1 + digi001
I'm using USB

Primary instrument is guitar ( not much midi experience)

midi gear:
Korg Triton
Alesis DM Pro
Roland A-30 controller

Hardware setup/cabels:
motu out- 001 in 001 out- motu in ports 1
DMpro out- motu in motu out- DMpro in ports 2
Triton out- motu in motu out- Triton in ports3
A-30 out- motu in port 4

I tried multipal configurations and I can't get any midi Data into Mac. Somewhat new to midi but able to get everything working if I bypass midi express and plug directly into 001.

Should I use Freemidi or Oms? I tried freemidi using OMS when available.

OMS seems to see everything and Clockworks sees Midi express. I tried different routing schemes. Not one piece of gear
shows any reading on Mac.
Motu should supply a quick start manual with a few set-up examples Just a suggestion.

1. What would be best/easiest- using OMS or Freemidi? I have no preference at this point.
2. Are my cables set up ok?
3. How should I route within clock works?
4. Should/could I use SMPTE with P.T. + 001?
5. Am I even on the right path towards getting this all to work?
