I'm new to the Mac seen ( finally woke up), and was wondering what to use to defrag hard drives?

Hey Bill - I've used Norton Utilities' Speed Disk on PT drives for years, never any problems. Some guys have reported trouble with it, but none here. Just make sure to back everything up first.

One thought… for disk errors or directory problems, I use Disk Warrior before Norton, but the Disk Warrior defrag utility isn't great, so I keep 'em both on hand. Good luck, and welcome to the love/hate world of the Mac!

Warmest Regards,
Brian

Norton does a great job. I've used it for many years on big drives with lots of fragments and never lost a file.
