PT 5.1 RTAS/TDM

After going through the users comments about PROTOOLS 5.1 I found out that RTAS can only be used on AUDIO tracks and not AUX tracks. m MAkes it limiting for users like myself with racks of synths and several 1622 I/O's.

A couple of comments would be appreciated: Anyone using a G4 dual processor system know how mant RTAS plugins can be used before maxing out the system? Just a round idea would be nice if the feature works well.

Also, will AUX tracks be incorporated for RTAS use?

I think you're mistaken about RTAS and Auxillaries. RTAS (in the traditional recording environment) are supposed to be on auxiliaries. (Except for the dynamics procesing of course) Check again.

Keith is right - it has to do with latency and the way that data is sent back and forth to the farm cards.
