Has anybody bought the Virus plug-in? How does it sound, and is it working as well as a hardware synth for you? Thanks......

The Virus plug sounds good, perhaps a little sterile but you get a bunch of them on one chip so that makes up for it . The midi timing seems to be okay and the patches that come with it are great. A must have if you're into electronic music.

JHarry, when you say sterile what do you mean? What interface are you using? I'm seriously considering purchasing the virus TDM. Thanks

The Virus TDM plug-in
report from us in tech support who are using
virus is excellent and sounds very good.
Since it is a TDM plug-in you can easily
ad extra EQ, compression, effects if needed.
So far Ive done whole sessions using just
Virus and PT MIDI( MIX CORE ) and its really good.

If you like the hardware version of the Virus...you'll love the plug-in.

Much better user interface....and to me it sounds even better.

Now all we need is a really powerful TDM sampler http://www.digidesign.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

I Totally agree with Oil P. A TDM Sampler would be great.

Warning - There are several users (including myself) experiencing serious problems with the Virus plugin and Logic Audio Mac.

Most of the patches will not load (you must first load them in Pro Tools and resave before they will work).

The OMS assignment does not work correctly when using more than one instance of Virus.
