This is my dream Pro Control. It would be excellent if Digi could make this. It would obviously be a much larger unit than the current one, and sell for more money.

Channel Strips:

-Dedicated knob, pre/post, and mute for each send. The send knob should have a push-mechanism for the mute.
-A small fader that's assignable to any send, with a dedicated pre/post, mute, and pan knob.
-Dedicated trim knob and phase switch for each channel. This would become available when you assign a trim plugin in Pro Tools.
-In addition to an EQ and DYN in/edit buttons on each channel, there should be a dedicated GATE button, as well as a CUSTOM button which you can assign any commonly used plug in to.

DSP Section:

-At least 12 scribble strips.
-Larger window/screen.
-Dedicated screen for all toggle switches.
-Clearly visible track name for whatever track you are working on.
-No "wrap around" bugs.
-Dedicated switches/view for the inserts, separate from the DSP editing.
-Dedicated metering for gain reduction, output, etc.

Groups Section:

-Dedicated display for the first 12 groups.
-Edit, select, and enable switch for each group.
-Toggle switch at top to view edit groups or mix groups only.
-Page left/right to view additional groups.

Channel Matrix:
-Playlist toggle capabilities from CM.
-More channels (thinking ahead...)
-Multicolored lights: red, green, or yellow depending on function.
-Dedicated display.

Monitoring:
-There are lots of complaints about this. It just should be better.
-How about an 8 channel submixer?
-An extra cue.

Misc.:
-Better metering.
-Trim scrub.
-More robust.
-Put the zoom/navigation buttons in a more convenient place.

Basically I'm looking for an SSL and Pro Tools combo here. Not Digi's BS version of it. Pro Control works, and I couldn't live with out it. But it should be so much better if Digi really wants to take over the world and compete with the big boys. I know y'all think you do, but you don't.

The Super Pro Control for $25K (with a good upgrade path)... how 'bout it?
