Is there a sonic difference between setting levels in these two ways?:
1) Keeping the individual track levels where they may and compensating for an overall low level by pushing up the master faders.
2) Adjusting individual track levels so that they are as hot as they can be without going into the red to yield a perfect level in the master faders.
I guess I am asking if it's preferable to make level adjustments at the master fader vs the individual tracks.
