Just purchased MIXplus and have taken manuals away with me on vacation before having taken shipment of PT.

In the Ref Manual, it says that crossfades must at least be contiguous. It would seem to me that an actual crossfade couldn't occur unless one region was overlapping the other, right?

Wouldn't a crossfade done on butt-spliced regions literally be a half-fade on the first region and a fade from (greater than 0, say 50%) up to 100% on the second region, causing the second to play without initial fade?

Crossfades are between regions which are usually on part of a file. So even though the regions butt together the actual files extend beyond the region borders, thus allowing a "true crossfade" even though the regions are only contiguous.
